DETOUR a 3 day BootCamp Experience

A common road is a road most taken. A safe travel is expected when a road is well built. It is usually smooth: no hindrances. But due to circumstances there comes detours. Detour is made when a specific area has to be avoided in order to prevent accidents. They come without warnings. Road repairs, heavy traffic and such causes detour. People who go to their usual destinations everyday often complain about having to travel an additional hour. They would criticize road works, how it is built and even traffic systems. Not knowing that these changes would be actually for our benefit.
Once or twice we experience detours in life. These are the changes that came to us like a ten thousand pound train careening toward us, taking us by surprise. We throw fit when things don’t go our way. We feel sunken, unable to do anything. We stand in a crossroad. Neither path makes us feel safe and secured. Our passion was devoured by fear of not knowing what would happen next. We became silent. Detours in life are changes that we do not anticipate. It can be death of a loved one, negative medical report, failure to get a promotion, losing a job, self-pity, disappointment.
What we don’t know is that this “detour” is just veiling our eyes for what is truly ahead. Like how road repairs transforms into something wider and more functional, this test is sharpening us to be a better version of ourselves. During the Detour Boothcamp, we have learned that you need perseverance to face a detour in life. We are to be warriors ready to face any challenges that would come our way. We create our own way of conquering heights and depths. We should learn to accept detours and winning it should be on top of our checklists. Against all odds we shall stand firm. This camp awakens the sleeping competitive version of those who attended. A story about an autistic child was told during this camp. And how Rachel Harrison, the child’s mother went into research and bought every book available about autism. While recalling the early years of her son, she often goes to self-pity and cried. But a doctor told her that if she won’t overcome her feelings about her child’s condition, she will be the one who will get sick. Upon hearing this, she slowly accepted her situation. She faced all odds and decided to open up a resort in Zambales to enliven the life of her son with disability and started opening up different projects dedicated to those who are with the same case. In doing so, the world has opened opportunities and accolade.
The key to overcome is to have the commitment to continue. Complaining would only hinder victory. Rushing would only cut the process. We should be willing to go through the detour, learn from it and enjoy the process of getting over it. Jeremiah 29:11 says “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We must stand firm to this truth that God has already won the victory for us. God has already made us victors and not victims. We are the head and not the tail. One must remember that this problem is hindering us from what is truly laid ahead: our victory. Have yourself planted on a solid rock, that when a problem comes your way, you would not be swayed and easily plucked. Focus on your goal: getting physically fit, move on, be faithful in your job (who knows, the next promotion might be yours), study, finish you college degree, continue your passion, dance, smile, laugh and live a life full of love. It is a good thing to watch what you say. Proverbs 18: 21 says “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. ” . Speak life into your situation. Separate yourself from negative people or things that would make you falter. It is a good thing to have people around you who will encourage you and would be willing to travel the road alongside with you when a detour comes in your way, like the doctor who talked some sense into Rachel when she was feeling down and lonely, consumed by the reality that his son would never be normal like any other boy. But most important is to trust the ONE who is going to make you stronger.
It was a very fun, heart felt learning experience. I must say that as a Blogger this is one of the best event I have attended so far.. My excitement got even more intense as I arrived at the amazing view ... Happy to meet all campers and co -bloggers. We formed a very good team excited to learn ... Lectures from the 7 speakers really gave inspirations as they share their journeys of success stories for us to really embrace life unexpected turns. Reminding us how blessed and Trust God in all circumstances. Patience, Perseverance, character, Faith comes thru storms., we learn a lot from every season of our lives . God is teaching us something , and Trust begins when we don't know everything and learn to Trust His way.It had appropriate visual aids for every presentation that really caught my attention, It was very informative and easy to understand. Workshop activities, team building, games connected all the participants to work together as one. Everyone was very nice, friendly and so generous in sharing their ideas. The organizers also provided very comfortable accommodation to all the campers and satisfied our needs during the seminar. I commend the Propel Mentoring Partnership TEAM for having this kind of seminar that educates and helps people understand life purpose . This seminar definitely exceeded my expectation. I would surely want to attend more events like this one. Elorde Boxing Gym Media Launch in Cafe Lupe Anitpolo

Last Thursday, I was very excited because of Elorde Boxing Gym Media Launch in Cafe Lupe. I have been meaning to try this interesting sport because of the benefits it gives, both to body aesthetics and health. The moment we enter the gym, my excitement heightened and grew more upon seeing the boxing ring and the rest of the facility.
The first thing we did was to interview the head trainer of the Elorde Boxing Gym, Coach Zaldy, a professional boxer in his prime and has now decided to train younger aspiring boxers. The talk with coach Zaldy included many things about boxing including the location of the gym. First I want to mention about the location. The Elorde Boxing Gym decided to put up its facility in Antipolo, particularly in Café Lupe because of the scenic view from the window. You could see from my photos!
Getting on the Boxing Sport: To start with the training, we had a few minutes warm up. It was tiring. We did a few seconds of workout, we did 10 –boxers do each workout for 2 minutes—so you can imagine our level. After the warm up, we tried to get on the ring and do some boxing basics. It lasted for 7 minutes and I was out of breath!
Considerations: If you decide to continue boxing, you have to be perfectly fit. If you have conditions that deem dangerous or inappropriate for vigorous sport like this, you are not advised to train. But worry not. Strict as it sounds, it has levels of training appropriate for you especially if you are a beginner. You also have to know your goal. What is your goal? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to be pro? There is a perfect training for you.
Membership: If you become a member, that is you have to pay an annual fee of 1800 pesos, you can have a discounted price of 300 pesos each boxing session. Other gyms offer 500 pesos for walk-ins but if you choose ELORDE BOXING GYM, you’ll save and at the same time be trained by professional boxing coaches.
My thoughts: I personally want to push for a boxing lesson because it’s good to have this skill when you are a skinny female. I also recommend it to you, to be healthier and happier about your body!
Thank You so much #Tagmedia for this invitation and also Cafe Lupe for such as a wonderful accomodation - great place and great food... #TagMedia #ElordeBoxingGym #Tagmedia
